Safety and efficacy considerations
Do not use on feed or in water but can be used to clean water lines and medication tanks, however practical application may be limited as these applications require flushing with clean water prior to reuse.
Can be used in egg rooms and on crates and equipment that come into contact with eggs but must be dried thoroughly before eggs come into contact with the equipment.
Can be used for sanitising drinking water and egg dipping/sanitising/washing but only with regulatory approval.
Some products may be registered for use in poultry drinking water, but veterinary advice recommended before use in this manner.
Poisonous if absorbed by skin contact or inhaled or swallowed. General recommendation to remove organic matter thoroughly before cleaning with this chemical.

Effective against
Registered as a disinfectant, sanitiser, algicide, fungicide and cleaning agent and active against bacteria, fungi, viruses, and spores. Depending on the product, can be applied via foaming, pressure spraying, recirculation, immersion, or manual application. Some quaternary ammonium compounds are formulated in combination with glutaraldehyde (see “glutaraldehyde | quaternary ammonia compound mixes”).
